Aubrey Beardsley (1872–1898) was a British illustrator and writer known for his bold, black-and-white Art Nouveau drawings that blended decadence, eroticism, and the grotesque. His distinctive style, influenced by Japanese prints and fin-de-siècle aesthetics, made him a key figure in the Aesthetic and Symbolist movements. Despite his short life, his work, particularly for Salomé and The Yellow Book, left a lasting impact on modern illustration and graphic design.
